The MTA Masters Ceremony is an annual celebration to honor Richardson ISD students who have completed their dyslexia intervention program. Multisensory Teaching Approach (MTA) is the reading and spelling curriculum used in RISD to remediate dyslexia. The more than 200 students who were celebrated at the event have been working through the dyslexia intervention program, attending daily classes for 2–5 years.

These students have mastered the MTA content, gaining the reading and spelling skills necessary for continued academic success.

Congratulations!

Students Participate in Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program Job Fair

The 2019 Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program Job Fair attracted more than one hundred students to Richardson City Hall/Civic Center as they interviewed with nearly 50 area employers. This is the second year of the program.

The Richardson Mayor’s Summer Internship Program enables incoming high school seniors to receive eight weeks of paid employment at local businesses, nonprofit and government agencies while gaining invaluable real-world experience and exposure to careers in which they’ve expressed an interest.

“They get an experience, a potential of what they want to pursue in their career pathway that really helps them solidify if this is what they want to pursue in the future,” said Tabitha Branum, deputy superintendent of Richardson ISD.
