Aaron Hernandez arraignment

Aaron Hernandez is greeted by police officers at his home moments before being taken away in handcuffs.

Aaron Hernandez Arrest

After nine days of speculation surrounding New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandezs’ involvement in the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, Hernandez was arrested Wednesday morning. He was escorted from his home in handcuffs by plain-clothes officers.

Lloyd’s body was discovered in an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandezs’ North Attleboro, MA home. The two were seen together on Sunday night and were connected because Lloyd’s girlfriend and Hernandezs’ fiance were sisters. Media has been camped outside of the Hernandez home since last week. That’s when reports first surfaced that Hernandez handed police a broken cell phone and a damaged DVR with surveillance video from from the home. A cleaning crew was also seen entering his sprawling home shortly after Lloyd’s body was found.

Aaron Hernandez Arrested in handcuffs

NECN reporter Kathryn Sotnik has provided some of the best coverage of the event. She was first to correctly state that no arrest warrant was issues for Hernandez last week and was the first to spot police in a nearby marsh area looking for clues and she was on the scene during the arrest.

Sotnik also reported that Hernandez answered the door without wearing a shirt and looked surprised to see police at his door.

Of course we also told you last week that Hernandez was in trouble because of his decision to own a white SUV like another popular [not] guilty NFL criminal. Watch the episode below.
