We have a dirty little secret. Throughout the first half of the NBA season we’ve become fully addicted to playing Daily Fantasy Sports. We know the topic of daily fantasy sports has been one of the most controversial stories, not involving Peyton Manning’s ball bag, over the last year. The one thing we’ve learned over the last few months is that daily fantasy is absolutely a game of skill. We’ve spent a lot of time developing this skill and want to share our knowledge and journey with you.

Everyday throughout the rest of the NBA season we’re going to share our lineup strategies and, more importantly, our success and failures.

Lets do this.

DraftKings

Bankroll: $50
$225k Sharpshooter ($225,000 Guaranteed) — $3 entry
$100k Hot Shot (3 Entry Max, $100k, Gtd) — $3 Entry

Guards

Raul Neto. Yes, role your financial future with the rookie from Utah (and then vomit in the closest trashcan). Yes, Neto has only averaged 13.4 Fantasy Points this season but the Washington Wizards have allowed the 5th most DFP (Daily Fantasy Points) to an opposing point guard in the league over the last 5 games. If you’re going to win in Daily, sometimes you have to roll the dice and it’s feels a lot better when the numbers support your decision.

Jamal Crawford. Crawford has become one of the sneakiest and best offensive weapons for the Clippers. In 5 of the last 6 games before the All-Star break he scored over 30 DFP. Yes, they are playing a tough Spurs team but there aren’t a lot of other options tonight at SG. Tip: We normally don’t spend a lot of money on SG because their average DFP are the lowest among the positions.

Derrick Rose. With Jimmy Butler out, Derrick Rose has to bring the offense. Plus, the Cavs are not strong at defending PG.

Lebron James. Remember that whole Jimmy Butler thing. Yeah, no one is going to stop Lebron tonight. The only thing that will hurt James’s numbers is if this thing becomes a blowout and he gets yanked in the 4th quarter. Oh, and Mike Dunleavy will be defending Lebron tonight.

Gordon Hayward. Let me be clear. I hate Gordon Hayward. He completely jammed some of my quality lineups during the 1st half of the year. Hayward can score but he doesn’t bring much else to the table which means he is always a risk. Bright side, the Wizards are awful on defense. I hate myself for this pick.

Derrick Favors. He will be guarded by Jared Dudley. Do you really need another reason?

Tim Duncan. I hate playing anyone on the Spurs. Gregg Popovich hates Daily Fantasy. Alright, I don’t know that. But, Popovic could restrict Duncan’s minutes at any time which could totally jam up your winning lineup. The only reason we feel confident about Duncan’s minutes tonight is because this is the first game after the All-Star break. Bonus, the Clippers are god-awful against Centers.

Wesley Johnson. I needed a guy $4,600 and under. Johnson played well leading into the break with 5 straight games of 20+ DFP.

Yahoo

Bankroll: $123
NBA $11K Tournament — $5 Entry
NBA $8K Tournament — $25 Entry

Kyrie Irving. Besides the fact that at any moment Derrick Rose’s knee could roll in to the 3rd row, the Bulls struggle defending opposing PG. Irving is a great option tonight.

E’twain Moore. Moore offers good value and with the injury to Jimmy Butler he will continue to see an uptick in minutes and points.

Derrick Rose.
Gordon Hayward.
Derrick Favors.
Jamal Crawford.
Raul Neto.

LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge is a safer option than Duncan against the weak Clippers’s front court.

FanDuel

Bankroll: $30
Thursday on TNT $75K Layup.

I hate FanDuel. I never win, I haven’t figured it out but that hasn’t stopped me from sinking money into it. Anyway, fuck it.

Kyrie Irving.
Raul Neto.
Jamal Crawford.
E’Twain Moore.
Gordan Hayward.
Lebron James.
LaMarcus Aldridge.
Tim Duncan.
