Can Someone Explain To Me How This Phillies Minor Leaguer Caught This Ball

I’ve watched this video at least seven times and I’m struggling to figure out how Philadelphia Phillies prospect Jiwan James made this catch leaping into the outfield wall while losing his glove.

Mostly because he the ball ended up in his non-glove hand, my best conclusion is that the ball never went over the fence and James misjudged the ball and actually trapped it between his body and the wall.
