Dwight Howard Is Joining The Houston Rockets
The biggest free agent story of the NBA offseason is over, hopefully. Dwight Howard posted on Twitter that he will be joining the Houston Rockets.
“I’ve decided to become a member of the Houston Rockets. I feel its the best place for me and I am excited about joining the Rockets and I’m looking forward to a great season. I want to thank the fans in Los Angeles and wish them the best.”
The announcement by Howard on Twitter ended a wild day of speculation. Which started Friday afternoon when ESPN and the USA Today reported that Howard was going to sign with the Rockets. A few hours later, ESPN retracted their story after multiple sources told them that Dwight was unsure if he would sign with the Rockets or stay with the Los Angeles Lakers [So Dwight Howard]. All speculation ended with Howard’s tweet.
Just to add to any angst that Houston fans may have, NBA free agency does not start till July 10th so technically nothing is official.
At 2:47am Saturday morning, Howard posted the picture above with new teammate James Harden with the caption — “Houston we have liftoff.”
Sweet rocker hands, bro. Harden already looks to be super annoyed by you.
