“Happy?” David Aldridge, what about Spurs coach Gregg Popovich gives you the impression that this guys is happy…about ANYTHING?

Aldridge asked, “How happy are you with the shot selection?”

Popovich’s response, “Happy? Happy? Happy is not a word you think about in a game. Think of something different. I don’t know how to judge happy.”

Classic!

Most people hate in-game interviews in all sports, but this is why I love them. You are getting athletes and coaches when they are in the heat of the moment and the most vunerable. Its not their shielded post-game interview that consist of, “we played hard”, “the other team just played better” baloney. Real Emotion — anger, joy, condescending…everything a sports blogger wishes for!
