The video from this story was taken down from YouTube but Bryzgalov did the same thing earlier in the season against the Montreal Canadiens, so you can enjoy that embarrassment instead.

Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov is spending his off season playing for the Russian National team in the IIHF world championship. In a matchup against the United States, Colorado Avalanche defenseman Matt Hunwick fired a shot on Bryzgalov which was deflected.

The next thing that happened is kind of mind boggling.

Instead of making a play on the puck after the deflection, Bryzgalov ducked, covering his head with his hands. The puck sailed just over his turtle shell for the goal.

The Philadelphia Flyers goaltender struggled this season ranking 32nd in the league with a 2.79 GAA. The Flyers missed the postseason for only the second time since the 1994–95 season.
