[/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2"]With one awesome tweet Boston radio station WEEI reporter Alex Speier confirmed that Red Sox ace Jon Lester was traded to the Oakland Athletics for two-time Home Run Derby champion Yoenis Cespedes. Also involved in the deal, outfielder Jonny Gomes and cash considerations are being sent to Oakland. Boston will receive Oakland’s second pick in the competitive balance compensation B round in next year’s Draft. The Red Sox were the busiest team all day as they completed 4 trades, including sending pitchers John Lackey, Andrew Miller and shortstop Stephen Drew to other teams. [/vc_column][/vc_row]
