I’m not sure how many people knew of King’s College Women’s Basketball Leading Scorer Paige Carlin’s decision to go to Cancun for Spring Break over staying with her team to compete for the women’s NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen, but King’s College has removed her from their roster.

King's College Basketball Player Choses Spring Break over Sweet Sixteen

You can’t defend the fact that Carlin picked partying over her teammates. That’s selfish, especially during the most important time of their season.

But here are a couple of things to consider before attacking Carlin:

She is King’s College leading scorer. She is a Senior. She is their sixth man. She probably ain’t going pro.

The coaching staff had to see this coming, if not, they are fucking idiots. Its not shocking to see a Senior, who does’t start but finds a way to be your leading scorer, to be a little pissed about “the team” and decides to take care of herself first. Carlin is a career 1,000 scorer too. The coach is either an asshole or Carlin has been on a partying/disciplinary binge since she got to school. What other explanation is there?

If I was in Carlin’s shoes, I would NOT have made the same decision. That doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate where she is coming from.

She gives four years to this team, works hard to be the leading scorer and get even crack the starting lineup. Good luck team, I’ll be drinking “dirty bananas” on the beach.

By the way, King’s College lost to Emmanuel College 67–56 in the Sweet Sixteen.
