Mariano Rivera Leaves Yankee Stadium For Last Time

Mariano Rivera pitched for the final time in Yankees Stadium tonight and his exit was as dramatic as it could get. Manager Joe Girardi sent Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte to the mound to pull Rivera in the middle of the 9th which led to a lot of tears and a standing ovation from the crowd.
The Yankees were trailing by 4 runs so a final save opportunity was not possible.
This has been a long year of goodbyes for Rivera who had Metallica play for him live last week and received many gifts, like a giant sandcastle that looked nothing like him, throughout the season.
