One of the most controversial plays of Thanksgiving Day 2013 was Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin interfering on a Jacoby Jones kickoff return that potentially prevented Jones from scoring a touchdown.

Jones, who was streaking down the sideline, was forced to move his direction inward and was eventually caught by Cortez Allen.

In the post game press conference, here is Tomlin’s explanation of the play.

“I always watch the returns on the jumbotron. It provides a better perspective for me. Obviously, I lost my placement as he broke free. I saw it at the last second and saw how close I was to the field of play.”

When asked if he knew that he is not suppose to stand on the 6 foot white line that separates the field from the benches.

“Tell me something I don’t know [laugh]. I do it quite often like everyone else in that National Football League. I was wrong. I accept responsibility for it.”

Who stands like that? Two feet close together on the edge of the sideline,

On his reaction after the play;

“They always like to show me on the jumbotron here in Baltimore. I appreciate that.”
