I love Pardon the Interruption. It’s the only show on ESPN that is set to record every day on my DVR so it was disappointing to hear Michael Wilbon’s comments [above] about the NC State wheelchair kid who stormed the court after the team’s upset victory over #1 ranked Duke over the weekend. After a rant crushing the kid for storming the court, Wilbon asked, “my God, anybody have any common sense anymore?”

Common sense? Here is a college student in a wheelchair just wanting to do what his fellow classmates all have the chance to do and “storm the court” in celebration. He didn’t let his wheelchair stop him.

I assume that Wilbon was just being overly sensitive to the potential injuries of the wheelchair man being trampled in the crowd or others who could’ve been hurt by the wheelchair but cut the kid some slack.

If you didn’t see the moment, you will see the wheelchair come from the bottom right corner of the screen towards center court before it disappears in the mass of people.

The student calls himself “Will Da Thrill” on Twitter and refers to himself as a professional court stormer. haha

Will also took this amazing first-person video footage with his iPhone when he stormed the court.
