While campaigning in Ohio, Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney introduced golf legend Jack Nicklaus as the “greatest athlete of the 20th century.”
Really?
Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, Wayne Gretzky, Carl Lewis, Muhammad Ali…do you want me to continue?
In fairness, Sports Illustrated picked Jack Nicklaus as the best individual male athlete of the 20th Century. Truthfully, that sounds like it was a made up category that was leftover for golf and tennis players.
This is why you can’t trust politicians, you can’t trust them to tell the truth. They will only say what is needed to make the people in front of them happy.
