Pitchers
Garrett Richards @ Minnesota Twins
Edinson Volquez @ Oakland Athletics

Pitchers are the most important players in DFS so most of your research time should be spent in this position. Most people are going to be picking Kershaw and Bumgarner tonight. They’re epic matchup is definitely must watch TV tonight but the one thing many people are forgetting is that the Dodgers and Giants have two of the best offenses in baseball. I’m betting on Richards and Volquez hitting the same point totals but at a better value. Richards has 13 strikeouts over his first two games and he is facing a Twins team that is in the Top 5 of strikeouts. They’ve also scored the least amount of runs in baseball.

Volquez has 15 strikeouts and hit 24 Fantasy points in his first two games of the season. Oakland is barely hitting over .200 as a team and is also in the bottom 5 of runs scored this season.

Make sure you bookmark this page as we make updates as lineups are finalized.

Catchers
Jonathan Lucroy @ Pittsburgh Pirates

Lucroy owns Pirates starter Jeff Locke, hitting .417 with 7 RBIs.

1st Base
Edwin Encarnacion @ Boston Red Sox

Encarnacion has made contact a lot this season but has yet to have that big breakout game. I’m expecting it tonight in Boston and, more specifically, against Rick Porcello. Encarnacion has a .345 career batting average against Porcello with 6 RBIs and 5 extra base hits.

2nd Base
Daniel Castro @ Miami Marlins

Castro is making his first start of the season. I’m making this move for two reasons. 1) his matchup against Wei-Yin Chen is good. Chen had to skip his last start because of shoulder soreness. 2) Castro is batting 2nd. Anyone at the top of the order is potential for a good DFS night.

3rd Base
Yunel Escobar

Escobar gets Fantasy Points. He is averaging over 8+ points per game. He is a leadoff hitter. He has a great matchup against Tommy Milone.

Adonis Garcia @ Miami Marlins

Last minute change. Which always tends to burn me. However, the Braves will be looking for their first win of the season and against Chen, who sticks, should earn him a couple extra fantasy points tonight.

Shortstop
Carlos Correa vs Detroit Tigers

I went all in with the highest price SS tonight. I really like his matchup against Mike Pelfrey, who gave up 6 runs in his first outing of the season.

Outfield
Jose Bautista @ Boston Red Sox

Bautista owns Rick Porcello and has one of the best matchups of the night. In 28 ABs, Bautista has put together 9 RBIs, 3 HRs, and a batting average of .464.

Marlon Byrd vs New York Mets

Byrd has nice history against Mets’s starter Bartolo Colon. This isn’t a lock for me. I bailed on Byrd because he is batting 7th and his stats against Colon are just “nice.”

Domingo Santana @ Pittsburg Pirates

Santana is having a nice start to the year and hits leadoff. He was also called out by DraftKings Playbook as a top value pick tonight. I’ll roll with it.

Mike Trout @ Minnesota Twins

Trout finally had a breakout game against Oakland on Wednesday, we are thinking he will ride a little momentum against the Twins.

DraftKings season winnings: $118
