Welcome to RideThePine.com

Let’s talk sports…

This is the first new episode in a couple days. Its not me being lazy, there just hasn’t been a lot of sports news lately. My proof, yesterday on ESPN.com one of their top stories was the feud between Jerry Seinfield and Lady Gaga. What is this, TheAlexShow.com, plug…

Today was a big day for United States Soccer as Landon Donovan scored a goal in extra time to send the US to the next round in the world cup and winning their group for the first time since 1930. This is great for US fans, but I gotta admit that part of me was hoping for a tie. My level of disgust and anger on this show would’ve been off the charts. If every game the US played in the World Cup ended in a tie, I might’ve went to every sporting goods store in America to deflate every soccer balls in the store. But they won. At least from here on out there are no more ties, which is how it should be from the beginning.

Could you imagine playing a game over two days and ten hours and still not be finished. Because that is what is happening in first round action at Wimbledon between American John Isner and some no-name frenchman. There are currently tied in the 5th set at 59–59. Yeah, normally you win sets like 6–3, 6–4, maybe 7–5. I think I would rather watch ten soccer ties in a row, then go to day three of a tennis match. And really, whoever wins is getting knocked out in the next round anyway. Wah-Wah

And here’s a couple of things to be on lookout for while you’re on the pine.

The Florida Marlins fired their manger Fredi Gonzalez and one of the rumored replacements is former fake mustache wearer, Bobby Valentine.

Top NBA point guard, Chris Paul said he would be open to a trade from the financial struggling New Orleans Hornets. Whatever team lands Paul could have the piece that Lebron James is looking for.
