Veterans Stadium Was Home To Sports’ Largest Porn Collection

Philadelphia’s Veterans Stadium was known for a lot of things — having a jail, one of the worst AstroTurf fields in the world — but now you can add something else to that list. The home of a giant blue chest of porn.

Former Eagle Hollis Thomas told the 94 WIP morning show in Philly the details.

“[The Phillies] did have an awesome… we used to share like the shower and rest room area at the Vet, and they had an awesome collection of porn. They did, it was just like a bunch of books in there. It was just in a chest. When I first got there I was like, ‘What is this?’ They was like, ‘This is reading material’. I was like, ‘Reading material?’”

Thomas said that the blue chest of reading material was not a secret.

“Everybody knows about the blue chest,” he said. “It was an array, a pretty good array of magazines. You actually had a variety too. It was almost like a newsstand, put it that way. Actually, yeah, it was the precursor to the internet. You just picked up one, and there was a little sign that said when you’re done with the book, put it back. I did get a couple of books where the pages were stuck together.”
