The entire East coast is preparing for the impact of Hurricane Sandy this weekend and people are literally losing their mind over it. The feared power of the storm, got us thinking of some of those most powerful and best professional athletes named Sandy. First to mind has to be legendary pitcher for the Dodgers Sandy Koufax. Koufax is considered one of the greatest left-handed pitchers of all times. He threw four no-hitters, one perfect game and won 3 Cy Young awards in his Hall of Fame career. Another great Sandy is Sandy Alomar Jr., one of the greatest catchers throughout the 1990. Alomar won the 1990 AL Rookie of the Year and was a 6 time all-star. Probably the greatest athlete named Sandy was one of the most feared professional wrestlers of all time, Sandy Beach. I might have overstated that just a little bit. I’m Sandy Beach and I’m going to make you chafe…in the little tender spot between your thighs.
Asante Samuel is returning to Philadelphia this weekend as his Falcons travel to take on the Eagles. Samuel spent the last four seasons with the Birds and told the press that the fans in Philly “better cheer for me.” Samuel said this in front of his locker while still wearing his helmet, which I imagine is practice for this weekend as he will constantly need protection to dodge the double-A batteries from the upper deck.
Knicks head coach Mike Woodson recounted a time when he was coaching in Atlanta and he allowed center Zaza Pachulia to skip a practice because he had a “hot date.” Look at this dude’s face. How hot could that girl have been?
The most famous virgin athlete, not named Tim Tebow, is Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones and she surprising made the 24 person roster for the U.S. women’s bobsled team which gives her the opportunity to earn a spot on the 2014 Olympic team and maybe win the elusive Olympic medal she has yet to obtain. Which is different than the elusive card her boyfriends have yet to obtain. We’ve asked you vote on RideThePine.com on which version of Lolo you like better — the hurdler or the bobsleder.
