In the middle of a second, long pause on what would become a seven-mile walk, I thanked the universe for the powerful reminder of constancy and change in all things.

The tide’s continuous, gentle advance and retreat mirrors how, in life, we often must pull back, gather strength, and return to the living shoreline. It is here we exist as people — always choosing whether now is the time to advance and work, or to pull back, release, and restore.
