Solitude, Sliver, and Surrender to Serenity: Join My 365-Day Peaceful Photo Challenge
DAY 363. Living with irrevocable differences and curating peace through contemplative photography.
August 30, 2025
Often, all we need is a moment of solitude and a sliver of light to surrender to serenity.
Awaking before everyone else and sneaking into the quiet of the day has, for decades, been one of my pathways to peace.
After yesterday’s long hours, steady work, and unexpected rawness, I fell into bed exhausted. However, by choosing to renew my practice for the 17,410th day (give or take a few), I allowed myself to solidify and deepen the peace I had consciously created during yesterday’s challenges.
Though the sun had already risen when I stepped onto the balcony, the air still held the quiet of a city not yet stirring. I turned toward the sun, still lifting itself into the narrow passageway between two brick towers in Mary Brickell Village, spilling its gold into the stillness.
