In 2012, the U.N. General Assembly declared the first-ever Global Day of Parents. Since then, it has been held annually on June 1 to honor parental units around the world. Being a parent is one of the most universal experiences, but it’s definitely not a walk in the park.

At Dott we believe in and are committed to flexibility and freedom.

Read on to find out more about what it’s like to work at Dott as a parent.

Hi Kieran, thank you for participating in this interview. Tell us, how many children do you have and how old are they?

Rory 6, Aida 3, Fergus 1

I imagine three children keep you busy. What’s it like to work at Dott and be a parent?

Of course, the flexibility and freedom in my schedule that enables me to be there whenever needed for the (many, many) doctors, school and sports appointments that come with a young family of 3! More important though than flexibility is the feeling that I am working for a company that is pushing hard to bring clean transport to the population, decrease our impact on the environment and fight against climate change. It’s a mission that I really hope makes the world a better place for my children when they grow up.

Working from Home is a benefit that brings great flexibility, but it can also be a challenge when your kids are at home. Do you have any anecdotes you would like to share?

My children regularly pop up on calls. Recently my daughter was sick and was fast asleep on the sofa in the background of my calls.

At Dott, sustainability is our mantra, how do you live and encourage it at home with your kids?

Our kids are still a little young to understand so we involve them in recycling and good habits like not wasting water etc. They are very happy with their second hand toys, bikes and scooters.
