🏔Today is a mountain of a day here at Ridge Ventures. Brendan Baker is joining us as Partner.
Brendan, who loves rock climbing — and rock climbing puns — as much as we do, has an aptitude for altitude. A scaler of mountains both in and out of the boardroom, Brendan has spent the last decade leveraging his data geekery and founder fanaticism to make venture more impactful and accessible for startups. As a Director at Greylock Partners, he experimented with new ways of building data and software systems to find and evaluate potential investments. As employee number-two at AngelList, he oversaw 8000 pitches and helped 300+ startups raise tens of millions of dollars in total funding, while increasing dealflow and startup intros by 50–100% month over month.
🏅Above all, Brendan is a builder. From startups to online communities to VC firms to homemade furniture, Brendan, like any master craftsman, understands that building starts with community. In that spirit, we’re excited to see him find new ways to champion our portfolio companies, and amplify existing support frameworks, like our CXO advisory council of 75+ Fortune 500 executives.
