Ridge Adds Three New Venture Partners
Wendy Phillips, Minn Kim, and Indy Guha join The Ridge Familia
The best things come in threes: musketeers, nucleotides, Steph Curry three-pointers, and Venture Partners. Today, Ridge Ventures welcomes the latter — three of them! — to our growing team as we kick off our 15th year of backing SaaS-ational companies.
Our new Venture Partners Wendy Phillips, Minn Kim, and Indranil “Indy” Guha add oodles of multidimensional experience to the Ridge family. They all combine operating and investing experience as founders, C-level executives, venture investors, and board members. Here’s why we know they are immeasurably, unequivocally, splendiferous and great human beings.
Wendy is a software entrepreneur and fan of software entrepreneurs. She brings a rare combination of founder and investor experience to The Ridge Familia.
After serving as a Partner at global private equity firm Advent International, where she spearheaded early-stage software investments and co-invested with Ridge Managing Partner Alex Rosen, Wendy co-founded mobile event app Gather Digital and oversaw its sales and marketing efforts. The company thrived and was acquired in 2017 with Wendy leading both Sales and Business Development at the acquirer.
Minn shares our passion for making work less work. A Partner at On Deck, she previously invested in early-stage future of work startups like Gatheround, Chef, Skan, among others at Bloomberg Beta, Bloomberg LP’s early-stage venture firm. Minn’s unique insight will prove invaluable in spotting the next MaintainX, Braze, Ketch, Rewind: software companies looking to eradicate the term “working lunch.”
Above all, Minn is infinitely curious, empathetic, and data-driven. We love to see these three traits in our founders and colleagues. She joins Ridge as an Advisor.
Like Wendy, Indranil “Indy” Guha built a fantastic track record as a venture investor before joining a portfolio company as CMO and helping it grow beyond unicorn status. Before leading marketing, partnerships and channel sales at Signifyd, a billion-dollar fraud prevention business, Indy invested more than $250 million in early-stage SaaS companies like Wrike, 6Sense, Signifyd itself, Gainsight, and Bloomreach as a Partner at Bain Capital Ventures, all while sitting on more boards than a surfer.
Indy’s experience operating both inside and out of high-growth startups adds another layer of thoughtful analysis to our investment decisions.
Wendy, Minn, and Indy are quite the Venture Partner trifecta. Ridge and our founders are lucky to have them on the team.
Let the fun(ding) begin!
