Non-technical needs are the ones that revolve around the execution of the concert production.

Can’t say that they are less important than the technical ones as they are tied closely together. That means, they can influence each other.

Here is a a list of some non-technical needs you may want to think about:

1. Vehicles and parking — whether you need extra security, you need specific parking directions, how many parking spaces there are and for what vehicles etc.

2. Equipment storage for the production — you may consider having a secured area where your items can be left for the time you are not around them.

3. Ground transportation — is there any need for transportation from the airport to the venue? Or from hotel to venue and back?

4. Extra labor — are extra runners or stage hands needed during event management?

5. Security — what type of barriers are needed? When should the security crew be available during the event day? How far from stage should the security barriers stand?

6. Telephone and internet connection- your requirements, when and where are they needed?

7. Merchandise — everything about merchandise sales

8. Media — if there are photo or media requests, do they need to be approved before?

9. Sponsorship — whether the artist accepts sponsorships and under what conditions?

10. Meet and greets — if the artist does meet and greets at the concert and under what conditions?

11. Complimentary tickets — under what conditions the complimentary tickets become available?

12. International travel — information about who will cover and take care of visas, work permits, insurance etc.

13. Interpreters — Are interpreters needed? For example, you may need them if you travel to a country where you lack the necessary language skills to communicate effectively

There can also be other things as tour production office, no other performers, no photo policy, taxes, insurance, medical service, force majeure, billing, cancellation, approval of other performers, smoking permits etc

When you have your technical needs sorted out, think through what are the non-technical ones that are crucial for successful event organizing. It’s a bit easier to do it this way.
