Rigging equipment is a type of equipment used for heavy lifting by riggers.

So what is a rigger?

In the old days, a rigger was someone that rigged the ropes of a ship to allow for smooth sailing. A modern day rigger uses ropes, chains, pulleys and slings to achieve the goal of lifting heavy object. These days, the technology has advanced that modern day machinery is also used to cut down the time it takes and also move the items safely. Some of theses modern machinery include cranes, forklifts and hoists.

Lifting with a crane

Cranes are pretty much an outside piece of machinery used for overhead lifting. Chains and slings can also be used to attached to the chain hook to move unusual but large objects. Crains are utilised in construction and shipping industries primarily.

Moving objects with a forklift

A forklift is a great piece of machinery for anyone that owns a factory or warehouse as it allows you to move pallets with ease. This cuts down manual handling and saving your employees hours of time.

Overhead lifting with a hoist

A hoist is primarily a device for lifting a heavy object either up or down using a chain pulley system. You will see theses devices use by mechanics to take the engine out of the engine bay. Hoist can be available in both manual and electric models depending on the frequency in which the hoist is needed.

There are many other types of rigging equipment available, plus devices that can add more functionality to your cranes, forklifts and hoists.
