Get an Eye-Popping, Gorgeous, Crypto-Back Debit Card
Get 1% to 8% of purchases back as crypto! And “free” Spotify!
The card is gorgeous eh? I drool at the sight. It is completely metal, so you can slap it on the counter for dramatic effect. With every purchase, you get free crypto sent to your crypto.com account!
To obtain one of these jaw dropping cards you will first have to install the crypto.com phone app on your phone. It will look something like this in the app store on iOS or Android.
Next, open a crypto.com account and pass the KYC (know your customer) verification. The crypto.com phone app guides you through taking a picture of the front and back of your driver’s license and a selfie. Don’t forget to use my referral code of ud9fmjwqk9 so we can both get $25 if you get a Ruby Steel or above card after signing up. The sign-up links in this paragraph should automatically populate the referral code for the $25, but double check. Once you are signed up, you can refer your friends for additional $25 rewards.
To get the the 1% cash back card you don’t have to buy or stake any crypto. You simply open the app and click the “card” tab at the bottom of the screen to apply. One of the coolest things about the Ruby Steel card is you can get $12.99 of free crypto a month if you pay for Spotify with your Ruby Steel card! At the higher levels the same free crypto rewards apply to Netflix and Amazon subscriptions.
Here is the link to the full information about tiers of rewards.
Today, March 11 of 2021, you currently must stake 5,000 (about $900) CRO tokens to get the Ruby Steel card. Staking means you lock up this 5,000 tokens for 180 days before you are able to sell it. The price could go way up or down, and you are locked in. You do receive interest in CRO tokens from a 10% to 20% annual rate depending on the offer when you stake.
On March 19, the staking requirements change to be a specific amount of currency. The requirement will be $400 for the Ruby Steel 2% crypto back level in the USA. That is a much lower dollar amount to lock up if you would rather not lock up $900 of CRO tokens under the current 5,000 CRO token requirement.
At $13 a month of Spotify reimbursements, you are getting a great return on your $400 investment of CRO! Nearly 40% a year!
How the Card Works
This card is a pre-paid card. So essentially you have to fund it with an ACH transfer from your bank, and then you can spend the money and get a 1% to 8% back in CRO tokens depending on the tier of the card. You can save the “cash back” CRO tokens or choose to sell them and withdraw the money.
The Future of the CRO Token
Not only do you get crypto back with each debit card purchase, but the future of the CRO token seems bright. Let me first make the disclaimer that I am not a financial advisor, and you might get better advise from a drunk giraffe at the zoo. I am however bullish on the CRO token. At $0.18 today it still trades roughly at the same levels it did in August of 2020 before Bitcoin rallied to the moon. The total value of the crypto.com tokens in circulation is around $4B today, and that is under 10% of the $47B market cap of competitor Binance and its token BNB. CRO could 10X in price and still be cheaper than BNB.
Crypto.com seems to me to be offering a lot of the value of Binance. I am optimistic the CRO token may be able to advance towards that $40B level and 10X from its current value of $0.18 USD towards $1.80 USD.
Signing up for the Crypto Back Debit Card
To sign up for the debit card you open the crypto.com phone app and click the “Card” tab at the bottom of the screen. It should guide you through the process. I am planning on signing up the Ruby Steel card once the requirements are lowered to $400 on March 19, 2021.
I am looking forward to getting my solid metal card here in a few weeks and watching the CRO tokens flood in as I purchase groceries and who knows what else with the card. I’m optimistic the staked CRO tokens are going to go up in value as well, and paying $400 to get back $13 a month in Spotify charges, well that is a good return on my money.
