In its 5th year, FFCON19 is one of the most engaging platforms in Canada for high growth and emerging startups-scaleups, professionals, and regulatory bodies to connect and discuss the next generation of finance and global digital markets. RightMesh CEO, John Lyotier, was invited to present twice to the engaged Toronto audience.

On April 3rd, John led a Q&A session about how blockchain is shaping our future following the exclusive Toronto Premiere of Alex Winter’s documentary,‘Trust Machine: the Story of Blockchain’, which features RightMesh. On April 4th, John spoke on a panel discussion on ‘How Disruptive Technologies are Transforming Finance, Culture and Society.’ John was joined by Rojin Nair, the General Manager Fintech Solutions at Celero, Robert Kirwin, CEO of VigilantCS, and moderator Iliana Oris Valiente, the Managing Director of Accenture.

Melissa Quinn named 30 Under 30

We’re excited to announce that our Director of Corporate Strategy, Melissa Quinn, was selected as one of the BC’s Top 30 Under 30! Melissa has made her mark on our organization from the moment she joined in 2015 and our entire team is thrilled for the recognition she has received.

Heading up Corporate Strategy for Left, and supporting with Left Travel and RightMesh, Melissa is focused on moving the businesses forward by working with regulators, lawyers, and partners around the world to ensure the company can scale and provide value for all stakeholders. Melissa collaborates with the teams to ensure this value translates to overall business success. She has been awarded an Emerging Influencer Award and has been named BC Business’s 2019 Top 30 Under 30. She started her journey with a BBA from SFU, and a background in HR.

RightLabs

The RightLabs team is making good progress in their business development activities in LATAM, particularly in Colombia. In the last month, they’ve had many positive and productive discussions with telcos, media companies, utility companies and others on discovering potential use cases for the RightMesh technology. The discussions are continuing with several of the organizations to determine the pilot projects that can be co-created.

Innovation in Emerging Cities

RightMesh Co-Founder, Chris Jensen, spoke at the Innovation in Emerging Cities Forum in Maple Ridge, Canada. The one day conference discussed the transformative innovative economy and how businesses can compete.

Chris spoke on his story of entrepreneurship in the panel ‘From the Kitchen Table to the Boardroom’ and was joined by Jen Hamilton, Founder of Oxygen Yoga, Oliver Perez, CEO of MultiTrends, Elaine Tan Comeau, Founder of Easy Daysies, and moderator Councillor Meadus.

Hack in the North

Hack in the North is a hackathon where the brightest young minds in India come together to code, design and build innovative solutions that tackle real world problems.

Left (the parent company of RightMesh) Co-Founder, Rakib Islam, taught a workshop on the RightMesh platform and spoke on ‘Blockchain for Social Impact’. Rakib, and other members of the RightMesh team, had a great time providing mentorship throughout the event and discussing potential RightMesh use cases with the students.
