Tech

In our recent updated Roadmap post, Dr. Jason Ernst described the components the RightMesh team is working on for the next 6–8 months and beyond. “Multiple Superpeer Support”, one of the largest and most important items in the Roadmap, was covered only at a high level, and Dr. Ernst promised a more granular look at each of the components.

The following four posts are the first in an eight part series provide that more granular technical detail.

If you have any questions regarding the above content, please reach out to our development team over Telegram.

Introducing RightLabs

Over the last few weeks, the product team at RightMesh has been re-strategizing their focus to match the adjusted technical roadmap. While the core tech infrastructure is being developed, it has been decided that it is equally important to ensure that there is substantial focus on use cases, partnerships and token models. As a result, the team will be transitioning from a tactical to a more strategic approach.

This unit is now called RightLabs.

There are 4 focus areas for RightLabs:

  • Use Cases: to discover and determine the relevant use cases for RightMesh through research and experiments
  • Partnerships & Community: to establish short and long-term partnerships for distribution. This includes growing our community by discovering RightMesh ambassadors
  • Token Models: to work on different token and business models that will help support and grow the RightMesh ecosystem
  • UX and Design: to focus on user experience challenges in reducing barriers for overall adoption

You can look forward to more informational posts from RightLabs in the coming weeks.

The four key areas of focus for RightLabs

RightMesh in New York

OSLO Freedom Forum: On September 17, RightMesh CPO, Saju Abraham, and Marketing and Events Specialist, Amber McLennan, traveled to New York to attend the Oslo Freedom Forum. This event brought together the world’s bravest activists and dissidents to meet with leaders from technology, business, fashion, philanthropy, music, and art.

RightMesh exhibited at the interactive expo alongside the team at ConsenSys, Hala, and Truepic. With over 1,200 attendees the expo was an excellent opportunity to meet with other social impact projects, activists, and influencers who are interested in use cases for our platform.

In addition to meeting with attendees, RightMesh CPO, Saju Abraham, spoke on a panel alongside Ariana Fowler from ConsenSys, Mounir Ibrahim from Truepic, Dan Henebery from Hala Systems, and Mark Ward from the University of Washington on ‘Holding Tyrants Accountable Through Tech’. The panel sparked a lively discussion on the need for tech advancements, issues with user adoption, and gaining trust in technology to implement proposed solutions.

  • Freedom House: While in New York our CPO, Saju Abraham, met with the team at Freedom House. Founded in 1941, Freedom House is an independent watchdog organization dedicated to the expansion of freedom and democracy around the world. Saju met with their team to discuss freedom on the net and to share knowledge on the RightMesh use case of providing connectivity during government shut downs.
  • SingularDTV: Our CPO, Saju Abraham had a great meeting with the SingularDTV team. They discussed both projects and the potential synergies for both projects to collaborate in the future. As SingularDTV makes steady progress in building a true decentralized entertainment ecosystem, RightMesh can provide the connectivity layer for their digital distribution platform in markets where connectivity is a challenge. While there still is work to be done on both sides before practical collaboration work can happen, both projects agreed to keep the discussions ongoing and share learnings especially with respect to token models that as they are tested.
