RightMesh Weekly Update: June 29, 2018
This week, our team participated in two wonderful, but very different events. Dr. Jason Ernst attended the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Reception and Awards Gala in San Francisco, where he received recognition for his recent initiative and talk. At a slightly less formal event, RightMesh Project CEO, John Lyotier and Product Manager Blockchain, Brianna MacNeil, both spoke at Dogecon Vancouver, which celebrated the social layer of cryptocurrency, dance parties, and many doges.
This week also marked conclusion of our Token Generating Event with the un-pausing of the RMESH tokens on June 29th. Now that it is complete, we are excited to get on with our mission of connecting the next billion users without infrastructure and lifting 100 million people out of poverty.

ACM Reception
RightMesh project CTO, Dr. Jason Ernst, attended the ACM Council Meeting and Reception in San Francisco over the weekend. With over 100,000 members, the ACM is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society.
This year’s reception was historic as it marked not only leadership transition, but was also the first time the ACM code of ethics was updated since 1992.
For Dr. Ernst, the weekend was also significant. He was recognized by the practitioners board for his talk and panel spot at AiDecentralized which has received more than 20 million unique views world-wide! Dr. Ernst also received appreciation from the ACM Sig Governing board and a letter from the German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, for the ACM-FCA initiative he helped craft on “Including Negative Side Effects in Research”.
While at the AMC event, Dr. Ernst had the opportunity to meet with leaders from Google, Microsoft, InfoSys, IBM, influential individuals within the comp sci space and major research institutions from around the world. Some of Dr.Ernst’s favourite encounters were with Donald Knuth, author of ‘The Art of Programming’, RightMesh project advisor Micha Benoliel, and Susan Dumais, Distinguished Scientist at Microsoft.
Dogecon
RightMesh was proud to be the title sponsor for Dogecon Vancouver 2018! The event was truly a celebration of the social layer of crypto culture, filled with dance parties, embracing memes and tweetstorms, rap shows, and of course Doges.
On Friday, RightMesh project CEO and Director, John Lyotier, spoke on a panel on Values within Crypto Currency. John was joined by Colin Pape, the Project Lead at Presearch.org, Brooklyn Zelenka the Founding Partner at Robot Overlord Software, and Taylor Gerring, Founding Member and Chairman at the Blockchain Institute. The panel covered the cultural and infrastructural effects of crypto, if there is one protocol to “solve them all”, and how do we come to terms with plain economic value where it detracts from social good.
On Saturday, RightMesh project Blockchain Product Manager Brianna MacNeil, spoke on the “State of Global Connectivity” at the State of the Doge Address. In a UN style format this led to a collaborative dialogue on the ideal future of decentralization. See her talk below.
RMESH Tokens Un-Paused

Now that our Token Generating Event is complete, we are excited to get on with our mission of connecting the next billion users without infrastructure and lifting 100 million people out of poverty. Thank you again to our community for your ongoing support.

It has come to our attention that a fake RMESH token was listed on an exchange. If you are choosing to engage in trading, it is your responsibility to ensure the smart contract address is correct.
Community
This week we concluded the first phase of our Green Challenge, reducing our carbon footprint. Our team earned points by sending in letters to our federal government to bring renewable energies to our region, using alternate transportation to get to work (carpool, walk, bike or transit), attending an energy & power lunch and learn; and bringing in plants to support the bee ecosystem.
