Stake RMESH & Earn RMESH

RightMesh is putting the power of connectivity back into the hands of the people with a mobile mesh platform and protocol powered by blockchain and tokenization. This is the opportunity to bring connectivity to people and places it has never reached before, and with our Soft Mainnet Launch Competition in Q1 2019, you can be among the first to use the RightMesh network and help us test and grow the network.

But that’s not all! The competition provides opportunities for Superpeer Operators and Data Sharers to earn RMESH while RightMesh App End Users will get connectivity for free!

What is the Soft Mainnet Launch Competition?

The Soft Mainnet Launch Competition is a period of time during which select operators and users can participate in the RightMesh network; however, data packets will use testnet tokens rather than risking tokens on the mainnet. This will allow us the opportunity to test the protocol and to gain valuable community feedback for planning the network before public launch.

One of the main objectives for the competition is to test data network scalability, functionality, payment channels, system assumptions, and profitability in a way which does not risk mainnet tokens being lost. That is why the data packets will be using the testnet tokens.

One large pool of RMESH will be rewarded to Superpeer Operators, and another pool will be rewarded to Data Sharers. These roles will be competing for a share of each pool.

What are the roles in the Competition?

There are 3 roles in the competition. Two roles (Superpeers and Data Sharers) can earn RMESH while RightMesh App End Users can get connectivity for free!

1. Superpeers: Stake RMESH and earn RMESH

A Superpeer facilitates the forwarding of data between two geographically separated meshes and acts as a payment hub for the payment channels. It can be hosted on a local PC or on a cloud server with a fast, stable connection to the Internet. In order to operate, Superpeers must stake RMESH mainnet tokens.

For the competition, Superpeers will compete with each other to accumulate testnet tokens. The earned testnet tokens will be rewarded with a proportionate share of the Superpeer RMESH pool upon completion of the competition.

Superpeers will be selected to forward data based on the following factors:

  • location of the Superpeer
  • location of traffic demand
  • speed of the Superpeer’s Internet connection
  • fee set by the Superpeer
  • effectiveness of the Superpeer’s payment channel balancing algorithm (there is an option to use the algorithm provided by RightMesh or to build your own)

2. Data Sharers: Share data/Internet and earn RMESH

A Data Sharer can share its mobile data/internet or the WiFi it is connected to (ie: at home)with nearby users in the mesh. In order to participate, Data Sharers will need to download the RightMesh Controller App.

For the competition, Data Sharers will compete against each other to accumulate the most testnet tokens by sharing the most data. The earned testnet tokens may translate into a proportionate share of the Data Sharer RMESH pool upon completion of the competition.

If there are no nearby RightMesh App End Users, there will be no one to share data with; therefore, the role includes encouraging others to be RightMesh App End Users.

3. RightMesh App End User: Use RightMesh Apps and get data for free

A RightMesh App End User downloads the RightMesh wallet and a Rightmesh app and, during the competition period, gets connectivity for the app for free. Particular apps are being developed specifically to be released for the competition. (Note that general purpose internet will not be available during the competition period.)
