Last November, our Chief Product Officer, Saju Abraham, was invited to be part of a panel at VanFUNDING 2017 called ‘Less Friction, More Trust: The Disruptive Power of Blockchain and Global Ecosystems’.

Saju’s thoughts on Blockchain and global ecosystems.

On this panel discussion, Saju explained how Blockchain technology can solve a really important problem in today’s world: the lack of a unique identity that can be used by individuals across systems. This is an issue that is even worse in the developing world where 1.5 billion people have no documentation whatsoever to prove who they are.

The good news is, there are a number of projects looking at this problem, and once solutions emerge, a number of possibilities will open for the presently disenfranchised to participate in— such as micro-financing and sharing economies — to enhance and better their lives. Blockchain reduces the barriers to entry and significantly lowers the overall servicing costs, making these systems more accessible for everyone.

Here at RightMesh, we want to enable the disenfranchised to participate in these new systems with an accessible interface they already own (or will own soon) — and that is the smartphone. Allowing people to connect in a more accessible way to different platforms and applications leads to a world of more inclusion and equality — and that is an example of the disruptive power Blockchain has.
