No one should have to risk their health to vote.

America’s long-standing practices of voter suppression have thrived in the digital age.

What technologists can do to support a democracy where all people from all backgrounds can fully participate?

Movement leaders, LaTosha Brown from Black Voters Matter, Shireen Mitchell from Digital Sisters/as & Stop Online Violence Against Women, and Sabrina Hersi Issa from Rights x Tech and COVID Racial Impact Data Alliance explain below!

As we continue to galvanize for this year’s elections amidst this pandemic, it is critical for us to examine how modern technology not only helps facilitate voter suppression, but how it can be leveraged to combat disenfranchisement.

Rights x Tech is a forum for technologists, policy experts and movement leaders to discuss emerging issues around human rights, technology and power. We seek to explicitly explore intersections and to connect community focused on incorporating principles of human rights into technology facilitating daily civic life.
