There has been a lot going on at this year’s API World in San Jose, CA. With 3,000 executives, engineers, and entrepreneurs attending, API World has quickly become one of the largest API conferences in the world, with a focus on highlighting the best business and development practices.

While the entire conference is memorable, last night was even more so, as John Wang and Sangeeta Walsh accepted API World’s award for Best in Communications APIs on behalf of RingCentral!

With hundreds of nominations across the numerous categories, I can’t share just how honored we are to have been selected for this award by leading thought-leaders in the API space including John Musser (founder of ProgrammableWeb and API Science), Rob Zazueta (Tibco), Ross Garrett (Cloud Elements), Prabath Siriwardena (WS02), Stephen Blum (CTO and Co-founder of PubNub), and Gail Frederick (eBay).

RingCentral was chosen based on three criteria: it attracted attention and awareness, it is generally well-regarded by the developer and engineering community, and it is a leader in its sector for innovation.

This award is not just a testament to the tremendous hours put in behind the scenes by our engineering team, our dedication to our customers and our developer community with free development sandboxes and real-time support, but to each and every developer in our community who uses RingCentral and constantly pushes us to be better.

A community that has grown more than 50% already this year, making more than 20 million API calls each day.

A community that API World recognizes as crucial to business innovation and success:

“Developers and engineers are becoming key influencers in their companies because the technologies they use continue to matter more to their business’s operations. RingCentral is a great example of a new era of technologies empowering developers to have a greater impact on products and IT.”
— Geoff Domoracki, Founder of DevNetwork

To each and every developer, we thank you for helping to make RingCentral Developers what it is today, and we look forward to continuing to make our platform and community even stronger.

And if you’re not part of the RingCentral Developer community, we look forward to having you join us, and getting started with your free developer account.
