Reflections from Coralus Confluence
Written by Marina Harper, Coralus Activator
What a buzz it was connecting with new people and ideas during Confluence week.
At the event, I had the pleasure of co-hosting “How to argue better — productive disagreements and tensions”, where we shared some practical insights and tips around thinking mindsets and influencing, based on research gleaned from top negotiators and illustrated with real personal stories.
We had delightful surprises along the way, including:
- The absolute fun shaping and delivering the session with my co-host Diana Terry.
- The fascinating participants and fellow Confluencers with similar interests in other countries who responded when I reached out to gather ideas, align and prepare.
- The super handy new tools, principles and techniques shared by GreaterThan and the Coralus team who helped us prepare our session.
- The fellow Confluencers, like Moira Were, who generously helped to test and refine the session.
- Getting to meet new Activators, and learning a lot from some other masterful session leads including Olga Hogan’s “Guided Self-Determination to improve self-motivation”.
- Being asked to organise a repeat of our session due to popular demand.
I look forward to being part of yet another new pilot — the Coralus Small Groups, which starts in October. And I’m intrigued by what delights and possibilities will follow.
During this session I’ll be hosting a very intimate online community of practise that supports and builds across Mindset and Entrepreneurial Tracks. The 3 hosted pilot sessions will provide a space for Activators and Ventures to collaborate and continue flexing their personal skills and influence, confidentially explore current challenges, share resources and insights.
When I joined Coralus (formerly SheEO) as an Activator 3 years ago, I was excited that I had finally found a way to support amazing founders and initiatives addressing the critical world problems I felt passionate about. I never imagined such bonuses would follow!
Coralus has allowed me to continuously learn from others as well as share ‘on my own terms’ as little or as much as I can when I have time. It’s also a safe place to ask for help or any questions, be they technical, business or personal. To everyone who is thinking about becoming an Activator I’d say — “Just jump in and try it out!”
It’s an opportunity to connect to amazing people and ideas from around the world, and the only place to experience first hand the global power of radical generosity.
