Today we were supposed to make our first prototype, well even we were going to. But when we spoke to a few of our seniors and experts we realized that our idea is really complex, and more importantly something like that is already there in the market. Plus our idea didn’t connect well with our issue which is ADHD.
For sometime we were really confused about what can we make, so that we can cater to our issue. Then we met our expert, he threw light to the issue. He asked us to think about what is the problem that people suffering from ADHD have. He then asked what is the difference between a three year old and a person suffering from ADHD. He asked us not to think about our product and then about an issue that connects to the product. Instead we should look at the issue and then about a product we can make to help the issue.
To do so we did some more research about ADHD. We did some research about what helps comfort a person suffering from ADHD. Then we looked at what soothes us when we are really angry, sad,or are having some problem. The idea that came to us was music. Then we looked up on google about the connection between music and ADHD. Surprisingly we found out that music helps calm down and helps them recover from ADHD. Not completely but to quite an extent. After doing this research we came up with a new idea. Which is that we make a wooden cylinder which has segments which can be rotated . Those segments have the letter A to Z written on them , the main purpose is to spin those segments and create words that make sense . The thing which will make the product attractive and calming for our users will be the sound of magnets clicking when two letters are brought in the same line which will be attached next to each letter , bordering the segments.
