The US FDA Approved Elon Musk’s NeuroChip Human Testing
The Neurochips aka the Neuralink, is associated with the neurotechnology company. This company is funded by Elon Musk himself. The primary focus of the company is trying to reach is to develop a relationship between the human brain and computers using Brain Machine Interfaces or BMIs for short.
Neuralink’s neurochip is an AI technology which is thinner than human hair. This chip is then inserted into the human brain and becomes the main source of bidirectional communication.
Elon Musk has said that he believes that merging the human brain with an AI technology such as Neuralink’s neurochips (neural implants) will result in the enhancement of memory, cognition, and communication.
In addition to that, it is also said that these chips can also be the cure for the likes of spinal cord injuries, epilepsy and even Parkinson’s disease. This can be done by bypassing pathways of the damaged neural and helping it perform better.
This technology has already been tested live on animals such as pigs and monkeys. In August 2020, a live demonstration was held that showed the world the capability of the tech by showcasing the real-time neural activities of the animals. This enabled the animals to use a computer cursor using their brain activity.
Now, Musk’s brain chip has been legalized and approved to be tested on humans by the United States Food and Drugs Administration.
