Aspirational April-The Month of Blooming Into Who You Want to Be

This week I decided to read “The Power of Broke” by Daymond John, this book will motivate and encourage you to push forward. I learned so much through reading it and all although my finances haven’t changed overnight, I plan to use the advice to change it.

I will be discussing:

1. Rebuild Your Life

2. FUBU Forever

3. Innovative Money Making Ideas

4. The Other Path To Success

5. Striving For A Better Day

And be sure to read my last blog on “Book Review: 3 Tips To Become An ‘Everyday Millionaire’ like Chris Hogan” & FREE Download: April Desktop Wallpapers.

If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Power: the ability to do something or act in a particular way.

1. Rebuild Your Life

In order to change your situation, you have to get real with yourself and eliminate your distractions and excuses.

Instead of thinking about how life has dealt you a bad hand think of your next move get out of this situation.

You can change your life by removing negative people in your life, stop watching Netflix, and stop worrying about issues that don’t matter.

2. FUBU Forever

Daymond John founded the company FUBU in 1992 as an American hip hop apparel brand. It featured pieces like casual wear, sportswear, eyewear, belts shoes, and even a suit collection.

One thing I have always admired about this company was that when it came out it wasn’t just known for one type of product it was known for several and it was a distinctive black-owned brand.

I do believe that even though this had highs and lows I think that it is on its way to being up high once more the retail environment is changing among African Americans. Seeing brands like Gucci & Prada create outrageously racist and offensive clothing is causing customers to flock to other brands.

3. Innovative Money Making Ideas

When your funds are low it forces you to come up with unique ways to grow your wallet.

And it should also force you to review where your money goes by implementing financial planning, saving and of course budgeting.

You review the bills or expenses that are actually needs and wants, and try to create new streams of income.

4. The Other Path To Success

Daymond John is a great example of someone who succeeded without a college degree, and it wasn’t because he didn’t see it valuable it was because he simply couldn’t afford it.

He became successful because he was determined to do so and had grind and determination to make things happen regardless. Even now after all of his successful endeavors including the incredibly popular FUBU clothing brand, he still sees value in something he has yet to do.

He believes that college allows professional doors to open for you in your career, and if you can’t afford college as he did. “If you don’t have the resources go to college, well then you better be on the Internet. You better be at that library. You better be wherever you can acquire the knowledge”.

5. Striving For A Better Day

As you grow out of your financial situation it will take a lot to get to where you want to be, you may will have sacrifice your time.

By waking up early or staying up late, selling your car because you can’t afford the payments.

Working more hours in a day, while going through all of this you must remember that this is only temporary. Which is why we have to keep pushing forward and think of the days when our life is going to be better than how it is today.

Would I Buy Or Read Again?

Can I see myself re-reading Daymond John’s book “The Power of Broke” again? Yes! Can I see myself even purchasing “The Power of Broke”? Yes, I know this book will encourage me to keep going when I feel like giving up.

The Question of the Week is inspired by Daymond John’s book “The Power of Broke”. Have you unlocked you Power with money & finances?

Answer: I have to say yes, I try not to waste money on things that don’t matter and creating new streams of income.
