October-The Month of Falling into a better you!

This week I decided to read “The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem” by Nathaniel Branden, this book is a boost we all need to reach our fullest potential. When we don’t feel confident in ourselves sometimes we often avoid or won’t allow ourselves to try things that can propel us forward in life.

I will be discussing:

1. Surround Yourself With Positive People

2. Self-Esteem Misconceptions

3. Remind Yourself Of Your Achievements

And be sure to read my last blog on “Book Review: How To Develop Powerful Confidence” & “FREE Download: October Desktop Wallpapers”.

If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Powerful: having great power, prestige, or influence.

1. Surround Yourself With Positive People

Knowing who to surround yourself is important, after all, you are who you hang around. With that being said you don’t have to be best friends with nuns and saints to be surrounded by positive people, you should look for people who can enrich your life. These people can be your family members, friends, coworkers, etc.

People who can inspire you and offer advice on your journey to becoming your best self, motivate you to achieve your goals. Help to empower you to make certain changes, so that you can succeed and reach success in your life. They remain productive and organized, which will often inspire you to do the same.

2. Self-Esteem Misconceptions

There are several misconceptions of self-esteem, our rationality and consciousness aren’t judged as relevant. Any belief in yourself is “self-esteem” or living a “perfect life” because things happen and by understanding this allows us to improve and build our self-esteem. For some, it isn’t as easy as it is for others, sometimes we struggle with judging ourselves for what we don’t even control.

But when we are able to realize that what isn’t our fault it empowers us and opens opportunities for us to grow our confidence. Self-esteem isn’t an easy journey and everyone’s journey won’t look the same, there will be highs and lows that make it unique. Don’t allow for others to tell you if you have self-esteem, everyone has it some of us just have to build and strengthen it.

3. Remind Yourself Of Your Achievements

It’s easier to keep up with our accomplishments by simply writing them down, whenever you complete something or do something your proud of. You can get a specific journal to track them or decorating a box to collect things like a promotion, paying off debt and learning a new skill.

Keep it in a spot that is easy to access and always visible, so that you can track your accomplishments before you forget them. Schedule a time in your week or month to sit and reflect on the things you have done and color code the most significant ones.

Would I Buy Or Read Again?

Can I see myself re-reading Nathaniel Branden’s book “The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem” again? YES! Can I see myself even purchasing “The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem”? Yes, this book has those subtle reminders that we have heard throughout our life but are explained to help us increase our self-esteem.

The Question of the Week is inspired by Nathaniel Branden’s book “The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem”. What are your “6 pillars of self-esteem”?

Answer: 1. Remove judgment 2. Persistence over Perfection 3. Self-esteem has to be built 4. Stopping the blame game 5. Self-esteem ≠ Perfect Life 6. Ignore others opinions.
