Every industry needs an email killer

If you are an agent or commercial broker, you are most likely communicating with your carriers via email. Emails. Grrrr. They interrupt you. They make you worry about dropping the ball. They silo your organization. They bury information you might need 24 months from now. They are a compliance headache.

But you have to deal with it — after all, you need your business partners to place a risk all the way to completion. You don’t have any choice.

Or do you?

Software developers use tools like Github and JIRA to carve major blocks of communication out from email. Small businesses use project management apps like Basecamp or Trello to keep everybody on the same page. Sales people have their CRMs. Gamers use Discord to gang up on the bad guys. The common thread? If you want to collaborate with other people, you need better tools than email.

In fact, there are so many email-killer apps on the market now, they have almost become cliche. The reason they are so ubiquitous is they are just so useful!

Insurance, however, does not have an easy email killer. Your main collaborators are people outside your company, and you don’t have a say in their technology choices. You would not think of asking them to log in to this great new app you’re using. That would be weird.

Risk/R set out to solve that problem. Here’s the thing: your business partners are never going to jump on Slack or some other newfangled app with you. So we made Risk/R backwards-compatible with email. If your partners are also users of Risk/R, great. But if not, they just receive emails from the app (and they write back into it as well). They will neither know nor care that you have just conquered a major collaboration barrier at your company.

Better person-to-team collaboration was solved by other industries 6 or 8 years ago. It’s time for insurance to catch up. It’s such a simple thing… but it will have an outsized impact on your business.
