Welcome Sheesha Family to our latest community AMA session. This week, we’re joined by ritestream’s CEO, Riaz Mehta.
ritestream allows users to monetize films and TV projects by creating NFTs. Riaz provided some great insight into ritestream and how the ecosystem can help to support the creator economy.

Hi everyone, please welcome our guest today, Riaz Mehta. It’s a pleasure to have you with us!

Thank you very much for having me here today. We are super excited to share our progress with the community and also want to thank Sheesha for their continued support of our project.

Thank you for joining us! Would you like to kick things off by telling us more about yourself and your crypto background?
Riaz
Sure thing, my background is both in tech and media. I started my career as a software developer in Australia and then over the years decided to follow my other passion which is producing content. I have created numerous reality TV shows over the years and also been nominated for the prestigious Emmy Award which is the highest honor in the TV industry. I bought my first Bitcoin in 2013 and have been deeply involved in crypto since I believe in what crypto stands for.

We know crypto isn’t your only passion, however. Founding one of the world’s most influential television studios is certainly no easy feat — can you tell us some more about how you have accomplished this?
Riaz
Indeed, I have had a very fulfilling career as a producer with numerous awards including the Asian TV Award for Best Reality TV series and an Emmy Award nomination for Best Non-Scripted Series. My shows have broadcasted on Netflix, Hulu Fox, Sony — pretty much all the major platforms across 50+ countries.

It’s fantastic to hear about how you founded Imagine TV and where that has taken you! Considering Imagine’s involvement with the television and media industries, is this why you chose to focus on supporting film and television projects through Ritestream? And what else spurred your interest in creating this kind of project?
Riaz
Great question, ritestream is inspired by my own journey as a creator where I experienced the challenges of the industry firsthand. It is incredibly hard to fund projects through studios and sponsors and even when one succeeds the studio takes control of the creative and a majority of the revenues. I wanted to put the power back in the hands of the Creators and Web3.0 is the best way to do this.

We know that supporting the creative minds behind media is an absolute priority to ritestream, as well as incentivizing content consumers! But for those who aren’t well versed in what ritestream is, what do you think Ritestream is solving within the blockchain?
Riaz
The ritestream launchpad allows the community to participate in Creative projects and for Creators to bring their ideas to life through fans. The community can have fractional ownership of their favorite film or TV shows via utility NFTs that confer numerous benefits to the holders of the NFTs. Ritestream empowers both the Creator as well as the community that participates in these projects. Ritestream also has an existing network of streaming platforms where this content can be monetized in addition to its own streaming app which is currently in Beta.

It’s exciting to hear that such a promising project exists within this space and that we can access it so easily! With that being said, can you tell us some more about how Sheeshans can harness the power of Ritestream for the good of our community?
Riaz
Absolutely! Sheeshans can participate in shows such as Crypto Knights (which is effectively a shark tank for crypto) that is being funded on the ritestream launchpad and not only benefit from owning a piece of the show but also have a share of every project that is featured on the series — now that is revolutionary and never been done before. This is just one example of how we are helping connect the community to the Creators and there are much more such in the pipeline. Sheeshans can also buy and stake the $RITE token because all those that hold the Rite token will also get a share of the project tokens featured on Crypto Knights. That’s right folks, you heard it here first!!!

It’s great to know that our community can support artists in the creation of their film projects and earn simultaneously! Can you tell us some more about how the incentivization system works for both users and creators?
Riaz
This is a truly unique eco-system where the community can support creative projects, they believe in by buying NFTs of these Film and TV shows. When the film is successful, the NFT holders will receive rewards in the form of $RITE tokens and also have exclusive access to content, be able get producer credits, and many more benefits depending on the project. Of course, for the Creator, this is the fastest way to bring their creative ideas to life and have the support of their fans throughout the process of creating the Film or TV series. We are creating a deep connection between the creator and the fan at a cellular level whereby both parties benefit and have a common goal.

So, Riaz, we know ritestream is bursting with potential right now and attracting the attention of investors across the DeFi space, but how does Ritestream intend to develop in the future to help it thrive? Can we expect any exciting new developments in the near future?
Riaz
This is just the beginning; we are working on integrating ritestream with our traditional streaming platforms and the goal is to have them buy content using $RITE — this will result in millions of dollars of $RITE tokens being bought by streaming platforms on a monthly basis. In addition, once we enable our AI features, the content will be tailored to audience preferences on the ritestream app, and we will also add the ability to buy NFTs of content while you watch your favorite movie. That are just a few things I can share now — a lot more in the pipeline.

Well, it looks like the future will be bright for ritestream and we’re certainly pumped to see what the future beholds! Knowing that you have things in the pipeline, do you have any ultimate goals for ritestream? When do you think you’ll get there?
Riaz
My goal is to make ritestream the largest Web3.0 funding and distribution platform in the world that truly transforms the way content is created and consumed. We expect to get there within 5 years.

It’s obvious you and your team are immensely dedicated to the future of ritestream and the media industry — and it’s admirable! Like any upcoming project out there, there’s always a strong team behind it. Can you tell us more about your core team and what they have done to build ritestream into what it is today?
Riaz
Yes, I couldn’t do this without my team! I have my co-founder Damian who is a veteran in the media industry and a serial entrepreneur. Our Chief Product Officer Jamie Bodkin has spent many years in crypto with NFT and DeFi projects. Our Chief Marketing Officer Claire Cawthorn has a deep background both in crypto, GameFi, B2C, and B2B marketing. We have a team of over 40 people today spread across 10 countries and each of them is a star performer in the role that they are doing.

I’m sure everyone here is thanking you and your team for the fantastic ecosystem you have built. I’m sure our community will be keen to get their hands on some $RITE tokens, so can you tell us where it’s listed and how our community can get involved?
Riaz
Now is a great time to buy $RITE while crypto market is at a low. I expect that we will see a significant rise in the markets and $RITE in the coming months. You can buy $RITE from Pancakeswap, Gate.io, MEXC, Bitmart, Bitforex and we are adding a few more exchanges soon.

As tokens are the current topic of discussion, can you tell us some more about the tokenomics of Ritestream and what we can expect to see distribution-wise?
Riaz
ritestream is a community-oriented project therefore we have reserved a large pool of tokens for the community (36%) which will be distributed via Watch-To-Earn and staking rewards over time. Of course, we have an awesome pool of investors like Sheesha that participated in our Seed and Private rounds. Full details of our tokenomics can be found at ritestream.io.

That sounds like a robust structure that should provide sustainability and stability in the future, particularly for the future of $ the RITE token.
You mentioned that both ‘watch-to-earn marketing’ and ‘community + staking’ will be separate sectors of the token distribution. Can you tell us some more about what the latter entails? Is it another way of incentivizing your users?
Riaz
Watch-to-earn is important for our ecosystem as it encourages our community to provide feedback on content which will lead to better content being showcased on our platform. The Staking rewards are also key to tokenomics as these encourage our token holders to retain their tokens for the long term which in turn has a positive impact on the token price. The tokenomics are structured in a manner to encourage usage of the token whilst constraining supply which ultimately benefits all token holders.

That’s great news for users! On the topic of community, can you tell us some more about your partners? We know partners can often be integral to fostering communities, so how are your partners supporting the growth of the ritestream community?
Riaz
We have been very fortunate to have awesome partners like Sheesha that have supported our journey since the beginning. Others include great crypto projects such as Enjin and EnjinStarter as well as reputable crypto funds like Great South Gate, Blockchain Founders Fund and over 30 other such funds. In addition, we have awesome partnerships within the media industry with brands such as Redbull, Mattel, Canal+ and many others.
