Meet the Rivet Dashboard Dapp!
Rivet adds support for Web3 Login and payments in DAI or ETH.
Greetings BUIDLers! We are pleased and excited to announce that we’ve integrated support for Web3 into the Rivet dashboard!
Starting now, you can sign up and sign in to Rivet by navigating to rivet.cloud/login and selecting Login with Web3.
Select it, and you’ll be prompted to choose a wallet from a list.
Once you make a selection, you’ll need to enter a nickname for yourself, your project, or your organization.
If you have a promo code, you can enter it in this view — just select the Have a promo code? under the submit button to reveal the input field.
After you hit submit, you’re in! Before you can start using Rivet though, you’re going to need some credits.
How do I get credits?
Our support for payments in cryptocurrency begins with ETH and DAI — though we plan to expand that list over time. Want us to accept a particular token? Let us know at support@rivet.cloud!
How to buy credits with ETH or DAI
Scroll down until you see a Buy Request Credits link—select it.
After the Buy Request Credits view loads, select the number of credits you’d like to buy from the dropdown. You can also select the Custom Request Package option and enter any number greater than zero.
When ready, select Submit to create your order and open the Checkout dialog.
In the Checkout dialog, select ETH or DAI, and proceed as prompted by your wallet to complete the transaction. Once the transaction succeeds and has met a minimum confirmation threshhold, you’re all set!
Already on a BUIDL or SCAEL plan and want to buy request credits using ETH or DAI? No problem! Even if you didn’t sign up or sign in with Web3, you can buy credits using crypto — and any credits you buy will be used before your card is charged.
Do Web3-originated Rivet accounts get 500k free credits a month?
Unfortunately, we can’t do that. With BUIDL and SCAEL accounts, we collect an email address to prevent duplicate signups—and because Web3 signups do not require an email address, we have no way to conduct a similar check.
While we could require email addresses from Web3-based signups, we believe that doing so would be inherently privacy-hostile — an anti-pattern we do not want to encourage. That said, if the free credits are really important to you, you can still sign up via email.
What’s next.
We will continue to introduce improvements and new capabilities to the Rivet dashboard interface as we learn more about how people use it. If you have suggestions, please reach out to us and share them. If we find a suggestion particularly helpful, there may be some free credits in it for you.
And as always, we can’t wait to see what you’ll BUIDL! ✌️🥂🏴☠️
