We live in a busy, complicated world. Let’s do our best to support each other.

Respect people’s timeKeep your applications as short as they can be, and ask for additional information in later rounds. Be upfront about acceptance rates so that people can gauge whether or not it’s worth their time to apply.

Reshape timeframes If people work full-time, is there a way to create evening and/or weekend opportunities? If people have a pre-existing commitment, can they leave the program for a short period of time and come back?

Welcome loved ones If you can, make space in your program for significant others, children, relatives, and pets. Creative people don’t exist in a vacuum, so think of providing support for those they support.

Accommodate people’s needs — be flexible and accommodating with regards people’s physical and mental health, as well as religious or dietary customs.
