Why So Serious?

Money is some heavy sh*t. I get it. It makes the world go round. It can open doors to new opportunities. It can also be a massive weight around our necks. There’s no avoiding the importance of money. But why does it have to be so serious?

We’re taught from an early age that money is a serious topic. But ask yourself, does treating money more seriously actually help in any way? It’s probably just going to stress you out more.

It’s not fun to be serious, and as a result, serious things are not fun. And so we avoid serious things, money included.

The single biggest reason people don’t actually face their money issues head on is because it’s so intimidating, and nobody likes feeling stupid. If we keep putting personal finance up on this high pedestal and tiptoeing around it because it’s so serious, then we have no chance of making any headway.

At Rize, we take a different approach to money. We fully acknowledge that money is a serious issue–for example, there are some seriously bad consequences to not having an Emergency Fund, and if you don’t have one yet, we’re going to make sure you get one–but that doesn’t mean we have to be serious ourselves.

Nor do we have to be serious with you. We’re gonna have some fun together, because like everything in life, you have to enjoy the journey, not just the destination. Every step you take with Rize will be a step in the right direction, and that will make you smile, and smiling literally makes life better.

So, whatever your financial situation, put serious to the side for a minute, put a smile on your face, and come on over and join us at www.rizeup.io.

Together, we all Rize.
