Maxwell Glick is a one-of-a-kind content creator on YouTube. His personality completely syncs with the contents he presents on his channel. Maxwell started his channel over 5 years ago in 2014 simply to continue his passion. His YouTube channel is a family channel where he shows everything about Disney. His love for Disney goes beyond that. With experiences in acting and voice-overs (in one of your favorite movies or TV shows), Maxwell takes his audience behind-the-scenes and gives you tips and tricks in everything Disney.
Q: What is your YouTube channel and what is the main content?
A: My YouTube channel is a destination for adventurous in happiness. What I mean by that is most of my content is centered around Disney, Disney theme parks and just a day in my life. I teach you how to do everything in the theme park, like what to eat, tips and tricks
Q: What inspired you to start?
I got involved in YouTube as an actor. I was part of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, which is an Emmy Award-winning show on YouTube from 2012 to 2013. And then after that, I was like I need to get going on my own channel. I thought to myself, “What do I love?” Disney. Why don’t I show people what I love with the world and see how it goes. So I started with Disney and it began to catch on.
Q: What were some tips or things you did to overcome camera shyness or other obstacles?
For me, the difficulty was finding my style. At first, I was trying to be too presentable in a way, especially because I came from an acting background. What I found within my 5 years is just being you is what works. That is what people want to see in the place you love. Be yourself and treat the viewer as a friend.
Q: What is one piece of advice on camera-shyness you would give to people who look to start content creating?
I don’t think I’ve been camera shy. I had to get used to vlogging in front of random tourists. When you do that, you get looks but you have to just go like “I don’t care. This is what I do and I’m doing it. This is me and I’m just doing my thing.”
Q: Any other advice?
The best thing is to be authentically you. When I meet people in person, a lot of times they will say to me, “You’re exactly like you are in your video.” That’s because I am being me in the video. I’m not trying to be like someone else that I’m not. That’s the idea behind my videos. If you want this to work, it’s really just about being you.
