What essentials do you keep in your bag?

All my life…

The world has two types of girls, one who carries small cute pouches and then there’s me, carrying an extremely oversized bag. Honestly, I’m always envious of those girls who don’t find the need to carry big bags, like why girl, what are you gonna carry in that tiny cute pouch of yours?

I’m someone who carries half of my life in my bag. I get paranoid if my bag feels a little lighter than usual, it’s like what piece of my life went missing? I feel like a witch who carries all the magical stuff along with her. I have always been questioned but I haven’t ever changed.

I have embarrassed myself a lot in queues in subways and at cafes, when I dig for coins in my bag but all that I get are old receipts, bills, month old shopping lists, or crumbled papers or wrappers of candies. Sometimes I can’t even get hold of my house keys as my bag has so much junk into it, even chanting abracadabra doesn’t work.

The most essential item that I carry no matter what, is my makeup pouch, it has hair ties, clips, compact and all my lipsticks. I’m way too possessive about my lipsticks and I’m afraid of losing them so I carry them with me instead. Apart from these things, I carry a notebook, why, I don’t know. An umbrella is a must, even though I never take it out. My earphones, my phone’s charger, my closet and house keys, and a moisturizer is a must for me.

Being a girl is just not easy! So I always carry sanitary napkins. You never know when you or your friends are going to need it. A comb, because the wind is going to ruin your hair every time you step out of the house. Some candies to munch on my way to anywhere. And also thanks to my mother for getting me into the habit of carrying a paper bag, just in case if I had to buy groceries or stuff. Ridiculous, I know!

At times I feel that I have been cursed. Every time I’m unable to find my keys, I tell myself to get rid of all the useless weights in my bag but that’s all just telling and not doing. No, the weight of my bag doesn’t kill me, and what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger!
