What has made you smile today?
A smile can be the beginning of a wonderful story!
We are living in a time where it’s easy to frown than to smile. Sad but true. Every day when I walk from home to my office, I observe people, most of them have gloominess scattered on their faces, some clueless, while some walk with a frown on their faces, like life, has never been good to them.
I’m someone who smiles at the slightest of things not that I don’t frown but I smile more and try to be cheerful. I have always been questioned for always having a smile on my face, sometimes men think that I’m smiling at them and some just stare while some people just smile back. Even at the University, some boys thought I was trying to hit on them with my smile but it is how it is.
I feel that giving a smile to someone is one of the most genuine ways of making someone feel happy though often it’s mistaken as a form of flirtatious act. This is why I refrain from smiling at random men but I make sure when I’m walking down to the office or back home I smile at kids because they will definitely smile back at you.
Most importantly, I make sure to smile at the security guards who open the door for us, the waiter who serves the food, the servant who works at my place, the janitor who cleans the washroom. I have seen a lot of people misbehave with them maybe because they feel that they’re lower than us but what they fail to realise is that they’re helping us in making our lives better and I always feel that smiling at them makes them happier. They will always smile back at you and that every smile is the most genuine of all.

If there’s nothing that has made you smile today then you will become the one who bought a smile at someone else’s face. Being able to put a smile on someone’s face is not stupidity but a blessing!
