Background

Discovery Digital Networks was a short format video production company creating web shows for niche markets. It originally started as Revision3 by Jay Adelson, Kevin Rose of Digg.com fame, before being acquired by Discovery Communications in 2012.

Project Goals

How do you judge the success of a YouTube channel? Views, shares, and social media mentions. Usually over the span of some time. The producers at DDN had a pretty terrible set of tools for uploading videos to multiple platforms, choosing thumbnails, and tracking the metrics of their videos and shows. This project’s goal were to improve the efficiency and understanding of how our content performed in the wild.

The existing dashboard before I got my hands on it. Yeesh.
