Natural Language Processing incorporates an interaction between various fields, including computer science, AI, and linguistics. Its applications and uses have been widespread, having been used to allow computers to comprehend language. Below is a list of three benefits that Natural Language Processing provide.

1. Vocal Commands

Natural Language Processing has allowed easier access to information and for entertainment. Among the most popular examples of this is Amazon’s Alexa. As

Alexandre Gonfalonieri notes in his article, How Amazon Alexa Works? Your guide to Natural Language Processing (AI), Alexa functions by changing the audio of the user’s command into text; therefore, it operates by referencing a database of words after a command is given, breaks down the tasks, and Amazon will then use its servers to relay the desired information back to the user.

2. Chatbots

Chatbots are used to enhance user engagement and experience. When a user types a greeting, the chatbot can convert the language sent to it. Chatbots can then interpret the user’s message by changing the words into structured data, interpret it according to its program, and respond accordingly. In doing so, chatbots can alleviate certain customer service concerns while also addressing some common issues, which will save human representatives time and companies time and money.

If you’re interested in learning more about chatbots, check out our upcoming deep dive program every Wednesday for five weeks Starting January 27 from 5:00–6:30 pm PST: Everything about Chatbots: A Hands-on Journey with Anuj Saini. This hands-on practical training will cover everything about chatbots and question answering systems in depth. Learners will get to experience state-of-the-art industry scale tools and packages, such Rasa, TensorFlow, BERT and many more.

3. Sentiment Analysis

Natural Language Processing can be used to deduce various sentiments from text. In doing so, NLP’s ability to perform sentiment analysis can analyze customer responses to elucidate the ways in which customers feel about different products. Once these sentiments are recognized, companies can sharpen their focus on their branding and marketing to ensure it is reaching the appropriate target market.
