FORWARD, the RMIT University Centre for Future Skills and Workforce Transformation, is offering ten scholarships to study with FORWARD and the CDI Foundation, the design standards and community development arm of the Conversation Design Institute, the world’s leading industry training and certification organisation for conversational AI skills.

FORWARD, The RMIT Centre for Future Skills and Workforce Transformation, working with the CDI Foundation, the design standards and community development arm of the Conversation Design Institute, is providing ten Australian FORWARD/CDI Foundation Conversational AI scholarships.

The scholarships are intended to encourage a diverse range of people to enter this growing industry and so ensure the industry benefits from a diverse community. This is important since if we want AI Assistants to be inclusive and human-centric, those professionals who create them should be similarly diverse.

The scholarships provide access to the full range of CDI courses for conversation designers and mentoring from FORWARD and the CDI community.

Ideal candidates for scholarships are those who belong to a group that is currently underrepresented in the field, might not have the financial means to access this training, and are motivated to learn about conversational AI. These scholarships are intended for Australian students.

RMIT has undertaken a commitment to contribute to reconciliation and Indigenous community development and recognises the inherent value of Indigenous Australian perspectives as expressed in Dhumbah Goorowa, our second Reconciliation Plan.

Therefore, we especially welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for the FORWARD/CDI Foundation Conversational AI Scholarships to help ensure that this vibrant and growing industry is informed by unique Indigenous Australian perspectives.

Current students of RMIT University are encouraged to apply although there is no requirement to be in formal education to apply.

You can learn more about the Conversation Design Institute and its training programmes in this video and by visiting the Conversation Design Institute website.

FORWARD is the RMIT Centre for Future Skills and Workforce Transformation.

Our role is to build an innovative learning ecosystem at scale, create new collaborative applied research and invent next-generation skills solutions that will catalyse workforce development in the future-oriented industries crucial to Victoria’s economic renewal.

We lead collaborative applied research on future skills and workforce transformation from within RMIT’s College of Vocational Education, building and scaling the evidence and practice base to support Victorian workforce planning and delivery and acting as a test lab for future skills to develop and pilot new approaches to skills training and education through digital transformation and pedagogical innovation.

We leverage RMIT’s multi-sector advantage to translate research insights into identifying workforce requirements and the co-design of practice-based approaches with industry.
