This summer I announced RNID’s plans to expand our new digital and innovation team as part of our ambitious strategy to become digital first.

Since then, we’ve made four fantastic hires. We’re still recruiting, so there are still opportunities to join us.

I introduced our digital first plans to staff at our Manchester conference

In September, we welcomed our new product manager Simon Nebesnuick and our service designer Jess Newell. Simon has done great work in getting our new intranet live and improving our processes through automation, while Jess got straight to work designing our charity’s new contact centre.

In October, we were joined by Katie Dickerson who is beginning the design of RNID’s new in-person service to support people with hearing loss, the first of which will open in 2022.

In November, we will be welcoming a new interaction designer to the team. She comes with a wealth of experience designing for disabled and vulnerable people.

We’re now looking to recruit:

  • our second product manager to own our growing portfolio of products and services
  • an agile delivery manager to keep our agile teams delivering against our ambitious roadmap
  • a product and delivery lead to provide leadership to the team and a strategic approach to our roadmap
  • a full stack developer to bring our development in-house for the first time (application process opening soon)

In 2022, we also have plans to recruit an innovation lead, a Dynamics 365 administrator and a management information analyst.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a lot of candidates over the past few weeks. Many people have commented on how they like the fact that RNID shares its interview questions in advance to make the recruitment process more inclusive (and less scary) and that our roadmap is open and transparent, so you can get an idea of what you might be working on and how you might contribute if you join us.

We’ve gone fully remote as a charity, which means we are recruiting the best talent from right across the UK. We’ve removed our core working hours to make working for RNID inclusive and flexible, allowing you to choose how and when to work. We’re also investing in our people by getting everyone together four times a year in person for a special RNID event where you’ll meet colleagues, learn and get involved.

We’re excited about the culture we’re creating. If it excites you too, why not come and work for us? We’d love to receive an application from you soon or if you want to have a chat about any of the roles you can reach me on Twitter or LinkedIn.
