It’s already been over three years since the last of the previous-generation Maserati Gran Turismos left the Trident’s historic Modena factory.

Still, anyone who doesn’t follow the automotive news cycle closely could be forgiven for wondering if the model was ever gone at all, given how closely the recently introduced new Gran Turismo resembles its forebear.

But who can blame Maserati’s designers for playing it so safe this time around? After all, the Pininfarina lines of the previous Gran Turismo remained one of the model’s key selling points throughout its life, and even today, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who isn’t smitten by the good old Gran Turismo’s looks.
